Divine Companion
Privacy Policy
Divine Companion is built so that as much as possible stays on your device. This page explains what little we process, why, and your rights under the GDPR.
What we collect
Account (optional): your email address, chosen language and tradition, and — if you sign in with Apple or Google — the identifier those services share. A password, if you use one, is stored only as a strong hash.
Conversations: messages you send to the companion are processed to generate an answer and retained on our server for up to 90 days, then deleted.
On your device only: your prayer journal, streaks, bookmarks, settings and reading history never leave your phone.
We collect no advertising identifiers, no location, and we do not sell or share data for advertising.
On this website: anonymous, cookieless audience measurement — pages viewed, referring site, campaign tag, language and an approximate country derived from the connection, never a precise location — on our own server and through Plausible, self-hosted on a server we control (Hetzner, Helsinki, Finland, EU). No IP address is stored and no profile is built.
Who processes it
Our server runs on Oracle Cloud in Frankfurt, Germany (EU). Traffic passes through Cloudflare. To answer your questions, message text is sent to an AI provider (DeepSeek, Mistral or Google Gemini) strictly to generate the reply.
Chat content can reveal religious belief — a special category under Article 9 GDPR. We process it only because you deliberately send it, only to answer you, and never for profiling.
Your rights
Data controller: Nicolas Lupu — contact@divinecompanion.fr.
You can export your data and delete your account (with everything attached to it) directly in the app: Settings → Account. Deletion is immediate and permanent.
For any request — access, rectification, erasure, complaint — write to contact@divinecompanion.fr. You may also lodge a complaint with your data-protection authority (CNIL in France, ANSPDCP in Romania).
